Dear Music Lover,
Just the other day, I was reminiscing with my
wife about a few of my piano adventures
from my early career years. For example; there was the time
I was hired as the entertainer for a high-end
cruise ship line called Cunard Sea-Goddess. After sailing
from Russia, down through the Mediterranean and on to Egypt
for several months most of what I can remember is Hannah,
the Black Jack dealer. It’s funny, she never did teach
me how to play Black Jack.
I also remember working as the entertainer
for the Hilton Hotel Chain in Dubai
and Abu Dhabi in the middle east. Talk about a 5 star life
style! Then again, I also remember my drummer getting arrested
one night during the second set. The Arab Military Police
came and hustled Jeff right off the stage because he had been
witness to a deadly boating accident. Oh my, we sure had to
call in favors from some royal friends to fix that one. Poor
Jeff was never the same after that.

Then there was the time I was entertainer for
the Canadian Consulate in The
Hague, Netherlands. My drummer who had also performed
several years with Oscar Peterson
wanted me to experience The Hague exactly how Oscar had experienced
it. I sort of remember the 5-star dining but things get a
bit hazy when he dragged me to a local coffee house. By the
way, they didn’t serve any coffee and to be honest,
I don’t think Oscar had ever seen the inside of that
coffee house.
So, why am I telling you
my road stories? Because, that’s what makes my
story and my act as an entertainer unique. You see, my job
is to make sure that your audience has a great and memorable
experience of a lifetime. And, part of that experience is
to reveal a little bit about myself that makes them feel connected,
at ease and having a good time. The industry term for it is
“shtick” but, I prefer to call
it “style.”

with either full symphony orchestra or jazz combo. I also
offer entertaining training seminars and can be a solo piano
entertainer on your private yacht
event or estate. I’ll go pretty much anywhere there’s
an audience. I don’t do dance band gigs and I don’t
play background music, I perform shows that sizzle. If you’re
looking for a wedding band, that’s not me. Having said
that, I recently played a 1-hour show at a wedding that literally
brought the house down. Hey, like I said, if
there’s an audience, and I’m invited to put on
show, I’m in!
